ALLIE
I’m Allie, a Stay since late June 2022. After being lured by a Felix Maniac TikTok, I was reeled in hook, line and sinker by 8 amazing and genuine personalities of idols I had never heard of before. And being an alternative/metal/emo music junkie, I had actively avoided k-pop before then because of its connotation with pop.I was primarily a YouTube Stay before signing onto Twitter and slowly learning how to vote, stream and buy for several projects, but the lack of communication and engagement between the Stay platforms is and has been an issue. This server aims to bridge the “social path” between the varying platforms and brainstorm ways to better connect with other Stays.Being neurodivergent — a perfect trait for a Stay! — my background is (not surprisingly) eclectic, with master’s degrees in health, journalism and business admin. After hopping across the country and even overseas, I amassed over a decade of work in the news media before moving home to the Southern US, where I now work in finance. (Math Stays FTW!) If you ever have questions about how news media, Excel or PowerPoints work (plus want to chat about video games and Reddit), I’m your gal. It’s been incredibly touching to have met the hardworking and lovely Stays online and on this server. My goal — to reach other people and potentially inspire them with Stray Kids’ music — will remain unchanged, no matter how big SKZ may get, because our support in turn enables them to remain true to themselves and their music. To see Stays communicate with different languages but the same goal, that’s when you really feel it in your bones: “Stray Kids everywhere all around the world.”
KARI
I am Kari, and I first became a Stay on October 14, 2022 after hearing Case 143 on TikTok. Since the first day SKZ found me, I have not been able to stop listening to them! I truly am so thankful to the Stray Kids because my life has changed for the better since that day. I smile more, laugh more, sing more, dance more, and have even made so many lovely friends from all over the world as we work together to do our best for these eight amazing guys who do so much for us. It is through my love and appreciation for the members of Stray Kids that I became a passionate voter and streamer. My very first vote as a baby Stay was MAMAs 2022 with my one email. That was a vote that SKZ lost by fractions of a percentage point, so I learned from my very first experience that every single vote counts! Between then and now I have been through two comebacks and have learned a whole lot from the experience, but I still have so much to learn! With every comeback and every big vote, I make new friends, learn something new, gain new skills, and grow a bit as a Stay. As we move forward, I hope that we can bring some of the same kindness and gentle encouragement that I received when I was a baby Stay, and help new voters and streamers to join us in our mission of supporting SKZ.This project was inspired by a conversation Crystal and I had about how we can find more Stays who would want to help with voting and streaming. When we did outreach efforts during the MAMA vote, Stays on other platforms were unsure of what app to use or that voting was daily! It seemed as if information was difficult to come by on other platforms in comparison to Twitter. After Crystal tried to post in a Facebook group about voting and was rejected, she had the brilliant idea of starting a group chat, and this project has grown and blossomed from there! We have a lot of learn on the various platforms to find out what works to take the Stray Kids to new heights in 2024! It's a lot to take in, but I'm really excited for this project, the team we have put together, and all of our efforts thus far! I think it will be a lot of fun to learn so many new things, experiment with new strategies, and work and grow together. Whether you dropped 1 vote or 1,000, I'm proud of your hard work for Stray Kids! Our strength as Stays is working together all over the world, and I hope we can work together to achieve more for SKZ in 2024!
KARI (AKA QUOKKARI)
I'm Kari and I became a Stay in March 2023. I was scrolling through TikTok one day and came across a Maniac relay dance video and it caught my eye. As soon as I heard Felix, I was instantly intrigued. I had to look him up and that's when I went barreling down the rabbit hole that is everything Skz and it's one of the best decisions I've ever made. After devouring a ton of content from YouTube, I realized how much more I would see if I had twitter, and for the first time ever, I broke down and made an account. That's where I found a nice community of like minded people that understand why I love Stray Kids and how much they really help me and so many others in a lot of ways.As a fan of mostly alternative/rock/grunge music, I would have never thought that I would be a fan of a Kpop group but here I am and I plan to stay. I found a place where I feel like I can fully be myself surrounded by amazing people that feel the same as I do about these 8 amazing men.I'm incredibly grateful to have found OutreachRacha. They welcomed me with open arms and have taught me so much! I might be the resident "baby stay" but that's ok. We're all here together. 💜 We work hard together because the Kids work hard for us!
SHARA
I became a Stay in December of 2022. Always avoided K-pop as I was under the impression it was all bubble gum music, but was blown away when God’s Menu came on as a recommended song one evening! I remember dropping what I was doing to go over and watch the M/V on my phone. From there I looked for more songs to see if it was just a fluke. Listened to Thunderous and Maniac next, then began my journey down the Stray Kids rabbit hole! The music brought me in, and seeing how genuine they truly are as people made me Stay.To hold someone with ADHD’s attention is a great feat, and their music captivated me and kept me engaged. Never really had much of a social media presence before SKZ, but joined Twitter to keep up on the latest SKZ news. Once I cultivated my TL, began discovering bases and other wonderful like-minded Stays. So thankful for the relationships I’ve built and will continue to build in this fandom!Learning about voting and streaming was definitely a shock at first! I now realize how important it is to have encouraging positive Stays in your corner to help show you the ropes. Burnout is real, and surrounding yourself with people who make voting and streaming fun is a must! This has made me realize that we all have our own individual situations in life that impact what we can do, and all efforts should be applauded. We are only human after all!I really want to help Stays find a healthy balance of what they can contribute while maintaining their mental well being. I believe a sense of community and supportive motivation is essential to building our fandom, and bringing in more Stays on various platforms. Above all, what we do should be fun!
